Acrobrats Information

AcroBrats Gymnastics has been the premier developmental gymnastics performance program in the High Desert since 1991. Our gymnastics program is founded on early childhood development concepts in psychology and education, as well as sound physical fitness principles and techniques. We tailor our program according to the ages and skill levels of our gymnasts so everyone is grouped by ability and age to maximize learning. Individuals are advanced to the next skill level as soon as they master the skills required, so the learning and fun never stops!

The AcroBrats indoor playground & training center invites children the opportunity to master their environment thereby gaining confidence and a positive self-image. AcroBrats Gymnastics classes are offered for children as young as small toddlers and we operate classes all year-round. All participants and their families have opportunities to participate in a variety of activities; some examples are, parades, exhibitions, community service functions and monthly recreational competitions offered through our AAU membership. 

At AcroBrats Gymnastics we are dedicated to the encouragement of fitness and fun through the thrill of gymnastics!

Coaching Information

Hi my name is Karen Mathews. That's me on the left standing with Mircea Badulescu the famous Romanian and now USA gymnastics coach. I am the owner and head coach of the High Desert Acrobrats Recreational Gymnastics Facility. I have been involved in gymnastics since the age of six and I have been coaching for more than 28 years. My goal that through training each child who enters my program will build a sense of confidence, positive self-esteem, and strength. My experience tells me that this is best accomplished through a fun learning experience. We are blessed with an amazing group of talented, energetic and compassionate coaches who work at Acrobrats. All coaches are Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) certified and are trained through the United States Acrobatics and Gymnastics Foundation (USAGF)training program. Each coach is also certified in first aid and in CPR.

Curriculum

We are proud to offer the "Fun and Fitness Gymnastics" curriculum here at AcroBrats. This is a progressive and motivational curriculum that is used to achieve more student accomplishment and rapid class advanced. All students are assessed on an ongoing basis and periodically moved up in Level according to individual ability and skills progression. As an added bonus, all registered Acrobrats gymnasts (regardless of age or Level) are offered the opportunity to perform at various shows and parades throughout the High Desert area.
